The international law societies of Australia and New Zealand, Canada, Japan, and the United States of America (the 'Four Societies') have held five conferences bringing together early career scholars around a common theme, generally leading to an edited conference volume. The goal of this initiative is to foster a scholarly network between members of the four sponsoring societies. Five meetings have been held to date, in Wellington, New Zealand (2006), Edmonton, Canada (2008), Awajishima Island, Japan (2010), Berkeley, USA (2012) and Canberra, Australia (2014).

The sixth meeting will be held at the Centre for International Governance Innovation in Waterloo, Ontario on 21-22 July 2016, on the them of 'International Law, Innovation and the Environment'.

Please note the  the Steering Committee for the Sixth Conference has issued a Call for Papers from members of the Four Societies, and extended the deadline for the submission of proposals until 8 February 2016.
