The International Peace and Security Interest Group (IPSIG), established in 2014, is one of ANZSIL’s interest groups. The aim of the Group is to enable those ANZSIL members who are interested in conflict, peace and security issues to connect with one another and exchange ideas throughout the year, not just at the annual ANZSIL conference. IPSIG has thus far held three workshops: in Melbourne in March 2015, in Sydney in April 2016, and in Auckland in May 2017.
The 2018 IPSIG Workshop will take place in Brisbane on Friday, 27 April 2018. The aim of the workshop is to provide an informal setting for a relatively small group of academics, research higher degree students, government lawyers, members of civil society and other practitioners of international law working on peace and security matters to discuss work in progress.
A draft program of the workshop is now available. ANZSIL members are welcome to attend the workshop. The workshop is free but places are very limited, so registration is essential. To register, please email the IPSIG Committee at anzsil.ipsig@gmail.com no later than 13 April.
The 2018 Workshop is supported by the Centre for Public, International and Comparative Law, TC Beirne School of Law, University of Queensland.
